From October 27 to 30, 2017, a group of 11 students from Cheong Kun Lun College (CKLC) has participated a four-day educational trip in Xiamen led by the Resident Fellow, Ms. Sisi SUN.

In order to allow students to communicate and interact with professors and students from prestigious Chinese university, the group were arranged to visit the Beutler Institute at Xiamen University. The University is located in the town with rich historic background. This exchange allows CKLC students to know other residential colleges (RC) and different models of RC operations.

This trip also gave CKLC students a chance to explore local culture – Min-Nan Culture. Regards to XiaMen’s geographic and historical background, the tradition of Min-Nan has integrated some western culture. It has its unique population, language, literature, history, concepts, folks, arts, operas and music etc. Students went to Kulangsu, Shuzhuang Garden, Jimei Town, and Chen Jiageng Memorial Hall etc. This cultural visit allows students to gain deeper understanding of Min-Nan culture and its history.
