Residential College Feeethanchan Chan Man Tek2020-09-22T16:28:10+08:00
Dear CKLC members,
Greetings from Cheong Kun Lun College!
Please be informed that UM Undergraduate Freshmen should live in a Residential College during their first year of study. Upper-class students may apply to live in a Resident College. Those who register for residential living during the First Semester undertake (or pledge) to reside in the College for the entire academic year. College Fees, however, are paid in two installments, one in May and the other in November.
Residential College Fee (2017/2018)
The Residential College Fee is applicable to all students living in Residential Colleges, including new intakes and returning students. Kindly please find the RC fee in 2017/2018 for your reference:

Remark:
* Since there are 293 nights in the resident period for academic year 2017/2018, the rate for “Payment based on the nights of residence” of RC fee will be MOP 48.46 for local students per night, MOP 79.18 for non-local students per night, and MOP 91.64 for incoming exchange students per night. We suggest the round-up daily rate at MOP 49, MOP 80 and MOP 92 respectively.

MOP 2,200 for local students, MOP 3,500 for non-local students, and MOP 4,100 for incoming exchange students which are 30% of the RC fee and rounded up to the next hundred.

3. Payment policy of temporary accommodation requested by RC students
– The out-going exchange RC students could stay a few more days in a semester and were only requested to pay the temporary accommodation based on the nights of residence because of different semester schedule of the universities they go on exchange in academic year 2016/2017. Those cases are expected to repeatedly occur every year, therefore, we would like to propose to adopt this policy for the academic year 2017/2018 and afterward until further policy changes.
– For any other temporary accommodation requested by RC students (including the above out-going exchange RC students), it is suggested that those cases should be subject to the approval of the respective College Master, else all RC students should follow the approved RC fee payment and refund policy.
– The payment per night is MOP 49 for local students, MOP 80 for non-local student, and MOP 92 for incoming exchange students in academic year 2017/2018; but if the captioned case happens during summer stay, the payment per night should be subjected to the summer stay fee.
4. 100% RC fee refund to the returning students who applied for RC withdrawal after RC fee was settled but before they moved in
– Based on previous academic years’ experience, some RC students applied for RC withdrawal after RC fee was settled but before they had moved in, RCs refunded 100% of RC fees, as a gesture of good will, to those students.
– However, in order to not convey to students the message that they could arbitrarily withdraw from RCs after RC fees were settled, it is suggested that a case-by-case approval system should be in place and be subject to the final approval by the respective College Master in the academic year 2017/2018.
– This policy is only applicable to RC returning students, not for Freshmen in academic year 2017/2018.
